Morten Østergaard graduated from Aarhus University in 2006 with a degree in political science.
In 2002 Mr. Østergaard joined Dafolo A/S, a company occupied with organisational development in the public sector through IT, as a consultant and later head of marketing. He was elected for parliament in 2005.
Mr. Østergaard’s political career began shortly after high school when he joined the Danish Social-Liberal party. Here he would become involved in local politics and later become the youngest ever deputy leader of the party. In 2002 he entered parliament for the first time as an alternate and in 2005 he was elected for parliament where he was appointed integration spokesperson.
In 2007 he became deputy leader of the Danish Social-Liberal Party’s parliamentary group and in 2011 he was appointed Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education.
