Bioeconomy conference in Czech Republic

"Towards a sustainable bioeconomy in Europe: how the Czech Republic is making the difference" - a conference in the Czech Republic held in May 2012

In light of the European Commission's February 2012 Bioeconomy Action Plan launch, this Czech conference aimed to highlight some of the work being carried out across various Czech research institutes to meet the central objective of the action plan: Shifting the European economy towards greater and more sustainable use of renewable resources.

Niels Gøtke, who was one of the organizers of Bioeconomy in Action, presented the Copenhagen Declaration for a Bioeconomy in Action at the Czech conference.

Maive Rute, director of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation's 'Biotechnologies, Agriculture, Food' Directorate in the European Commission, talked about waste, over-exploiting and sustainability.

The conference was arranged by The Czech Liaison Office for Research and Development and the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic.
